We indulge our kink for the historical in these two period films. 'Caned in Jodhpurs' was written by US fetish star Zille Defeu, who wanted to play a molested and unfairly whipped stablegirl. Zille is caught up in domestic discord between the unpleasant couple who employ her. The lord of the manor unfairly punishes Zille with a riding crop, molests her against her will, and then his jealous wife Pandora insists that poor Zille be punished again for seducing her husband! But the tables are turned when the truth comes out - and Pandora gets what she deserves in the end, as she is caned in front of the stablegirl. 'The Secret in the Wardrobe' is a more light-hearted affair starring Caroline Grey as a mischievous ward in league with her chambermaid Dora. Governess Adele Haze attempts to instil discipline into the naughty girl without success, and Dora's attempt to protect her mistress sees them both in trouble. Eventually the butler, charged with keeping order in her father's absence, restores order with a caning for the maid and a hard strapping for the mistress. Fans of Downton Abbey will enjoy this entertaining historical drama.
